After Eneko Atxa (Azurmendi, 3 Michelin Stars, Spain) and Alex Atala (D.O.M, 2 Michelin Stars, Brazil), it was Henrique Sá Pessoa’s turn to host the 3rd Ritz’s Secret Room by Blood ‘n’ Guts, one of the year’s most exclusive dinners. Yet another highpoint for the chef, whose Alma earned its second Michelin star last year.

The event took place in a suite in one of Lisbon’s most glamorous hotels. Chef Sá Pessoa was joined by award-winning Chef José Avillez for this unprecedented happening.
This was the first time that the two chefs had shared both a kitchen and the responsibility of surprising a small table of some 20 diners.
The ambience was enhanced by the luxurious setting of the hotel, the gold-plated candlesticks and the tableware previously used for great banquets. The evening was spiced up by the artist Alice Joana Gonçalves and by Massive Attack’s Daddy G, who both helped ensure it was a truly memorable night.
The creations dreamed up by Henrique Sá Pessoa and José Avillez were served on dishes made specially for the occasion by the Studio Neves ceramics workshop.
Wrapped in mystery and the subject of much speculation, whatever goes on in suite 1023 of the Ritz Four Seasons Hotel stays in suite 1023. Or does it?
